National Vision Delivers Growth, Efficiency, and Strategic Progress in 2025

National Vision Holdings, Inc. reported a strong finish to fiscal 2025, demonstrating meaningful progress across both its fourth quarter and full-year results. Revenue growth was a key highlight, with fourth-quarter net revenue reaching $503.4 million, up 15.1% year-over-year, and full-year revenue climbing to nearly $2.0 billion, an increase of 9.0%. Comparable store sales also remained consistently positive, marking the 12th consecutive quarter of growth. This sustained momentum reflects continued execution of the company’s strategic initiatives, including improvements in customer mix, pricing strategies, and store-level performance.

Several operational improvements contributed to these results. The company saw significant expansion in profitability, with adjusted operating income increasing substantially in both the quarter and the full year, and adjusted operating margins improving as well. Cost discipline played an important role, as SG&A expenses grew at a slower rate than revenue, resulting in operating leverage and margin expansion. Additionally, the company benefited from increased traffic among higher-value customer cohorts, including managed vision care users and progressive lens wearers, which helped support higher average ticket sizes and stronger overall profitability.

That said, not all trends were entirely positive. While comparable store sales were strong, some of the growth was supported by managed care customers, while self-pay traffic showed softness. The company also faced headwinds from timing impacts related to unearned revenue, which had a modest negative effect on margins and earnings. Additionally, rising costs in certain areas, including optometrist-related expenses and healthcare costs, partially offset the efficiency gains. These factors highlight ongoing challenges in balancing growth with cost pressures and customer mix dynamics.

From a broader perspective, the company’s transformation strategy appears to be gaining traction. Management emphasized deliberate efforts to refine its customer targeting, enhance product assortment, modernize marketing, and improve the overall patient experience. These initiatives are designed not only to drive traffic but to attract a more profitable customer base over time. The continued expansion of store count, along with investments in operational infrastructure and technology, further supports long-term scalability and growth.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2026, National Vision appears focused on maintaining this momentum. Guidance calls for continued revenue growth, additional new store openings, and further expansion in adjusted operating income and earnings per share. The company’s leadership has expressed confidence in its strategic direction, supported by disciplined cost management and targeted investments. With a clearer focus on higher-value customers, improved operational efficiency, and a steady growth trajectory, National Vision is positioning itself for sustained performance while continuing to execute on its long-term transformation.
